Hästens Blue Check is the iconic signature of the Swedish brand: a 100% cotton Jacquard fabric woven with up to 45 threads per square centimetre, of the highest quality, ecologically dyed in accordance with the Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex®.
The blue and white check pattern was conceived and designed in 1978 by the previous head of Hästens, Jack Ryde. Completely at odds with the bed design of the time, always in dark brown, green and orange, the design was initially criticised as unusual. But very quickly, its freshness was a huge success and it became the brand’s emblematic signature. So much so that it is registered at the patent office: only Hästens products can use this recognisable grid pattern.

Jack Ryde’s brilliant idea does not stop at pure design: the pattern of these tiles serves as a framework, a mark of alignment for the Hästens master craftsmen who sew and assemble the mattresses by hand in an extremely precise manner, guided by the lines and angles of the pattern.
